Fair-use limits
Each account may keep 50 active projects and 1 GB of assets and kept renders. Unclaimed chat subjects may keep 10 projects and 200 MB; unclaimed projects expire after 30 days. Each project allows 2 MB of source, 20 assets at 25 MB each and 100 MB total. We keep the last 20 versions, 50 cached frames and 3 renders; older media is deleted. Frames expire after 14 days. Renders are limited to 180 seconds, 1080p (including portrait), and 30 fps. Accounts may request 10 renders per UTC day; unclaimed subjects 3, with one in-flight render each. Each actor may request 60 snapshots and 30 asset imports per UTC hour. Failed attempts and cached snapshots count. Size units use 1024-based MB/GB. Delete old projects, reduce your request, or wait for the stated reset. Higher limits coming with paid plans. Rendering and snapshots may be temporarily unavailable. Download important exports before they are pruned.
The service
These terms govern your use of Shotcut, operated by Pro Stack Labs. By using Shotcut, you agree to these terms. Shotcut provides project creation, source-based motion graphics, previews, editing, media import, and hosted rendering. ChatGPT and Claude are separate services subject to their own terms. Shotcut is not affiliated with the separate open-source Shotcut desktop video editor.
Accounts and eligibility
Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials and project access links, and use the service only where permitted by applicable law. You must be at least 13, meet any higher minimum age required in your location or chat platform, and have parent or guardian permission if needed to agree to these terms.
Your content
You retain your rights in content you supply. You grant Pro Stack Labs permission to store, process, reproduce, and transmit that content only as needed to provide, maintain, and secure Shotcut and carry out your requests. You must have the rights and permissions needed for imported media, source, likenesses, brands, and any other content. Review generated compositions and rendered output before use; outputs may contain mistakes and may not be unique.
Acceptable use
Do not use Shotcut for unlawful, infringing, deceptive, exploitative, or abusive content; sexual exploitation or endangerment of minors; sexual content or graphic violence unsuitable for general audiences; harassment, threats, hate, violence, self-harm promotion, fraud, or deceptive impersonation; non-consensual intimate imagery; malware; credential theft; or attempts to bypass access controls or platform safeguards. Respect the usage policies of the chat service you connect. Do not import third-party media without authorization or interfere with the service. We may restrict abusive activity or suspend access to protect users and the service.
Access, exports, and deletion
Projects and renders are private by default. IDs and ordinary links do not grant access. Owners may explicitly create temporary, revocable view-only sharing links. Only the owning account may access claimed projects; unclaimed access requires a verified creating chat identity or secret claim token. Preview capabilities are short-lived and read-only. Unclaimed projects expire after 30 days. Use /account to permanently delete your account data; dashboard deletion permanently removes project source and media. Availability and responsibility
Shotcut is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted operation or error-free output. Keep independent copies of important work. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
Changes and contact
We may change the service or these terms and update the effective date here. Material changes may require additional notice where law requires it. Stop using the service if you do not accept updated terms. For questions, account closure, or complaints, contact support.shotcut@prostacklabs.com.
